 What's new at KBEMS Minimize

Annoucements

KBEMS will no longer offer walk-in credentialing.
October 19th, 2009
Due to the busy renewal season, applicants for initial certification/licensure, reciprocity, reinstatement or renewal will have to make an appointment with Brooke Miller (EMT-Basics) or Amanda Hutson (First Responders, Paramedics, & Instructors). Please call 859-256-3565 to schedule your appointment with the appropriate person.

Your EMS provider certification(s) and/or licenses are due to expire 12/31/2009. To ensure processing prior to the expiration date, your completed application and fees must be received in our office no later than October 30, 2009. Payment must be in the form of a certified check, money order, or a check from an official governmental unit made payable to the KY Board of EMS.

Do not send your continuing education documentation at this time. Your renewal requirements, as set forth in Kentucky Administrative Regulations 202 KAR 7:201, 7:301, 7:401, and 7:601, are subject to a random audit by the Kentucky Board of EMS during the renewal cycle.

If you choose not to renew any of your certification(s) or licenses, then pursuant to KRS 311A.095 (6) you will not be allowed to function in those capacities in Kentucky following the above expiration date. Allowing a certification and/or license to expire may or may not affect other certifications you may hold.

  • Renewal fees have changed.
  • Our office will be closed December 23-31, 2009.
  • Extensions cannot be granted.
  • When renewing a Paramedic License, you do not pay a separate EMT fee.
  • When renewing Level II Instructor Certification, you do not pay a separate Level I Instructor fee.
This is the only notice you will receive. Download your application and updated fee schedule. If you are unable to download the application, contact Tina Rachford at (859) 256-3582.

If you have any questions concerning this or any other matter, please contact the Kentucky Board of EMS at (859) 256-3565.
